Life's adventures begin with the first step. I have been taking that mantra with me on this journey, and have realized in the process that it's also about taking a step back in order to take it all in.

A Grand Time
With unemployment lurking around the corner post-Korea, I went to my tried and true place, CoolWorks.com and got a serving job at the famed El Tovar Dining Room on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Although I am certainly beyond my prime in serving eggs benedict to little old ladies on bus tours, it is a refreshing 'break' from the audacious teaching life in Korea. Here, I have been fortunate to have hiked to the bottom of the canyon and have taken pictures that rival those found in coffeetable books. It truly is a remarkable feat of nature that something so grand is accessible to so many. I only hope I don't lose my footing.
